Together, we can turn trauma into strength. Jacob Merlin Foundation empowers our community to heal, find hope, and thrive.

At Jacob Merlin Foundation, we strive to improve the lives of system-impacted communities by providing them with education, food, and tools to thrive. Our mission at the Merlin Foundation is to break the cycle of systemic barriers and generational trauma, giving these survivors a chance at a better future. Together, these services foster stability, resilience, and empowerment guiding each person toward healing and self-sufficiency to Thrive, not just Survive.

The Jacob Merlin Foundation was born out of a vision to create hope where trauma once left silence. Founded in Merced County, California, in 2023, this merlin foundation began as a small, community-driven effort to support individuals and families navigating the effects of trauma, loss, and adversity.
Named in honor of Jacob, whose life symbolized compassion, resilience, and healing, the foundation was established to extend those same values to others. What started as a simple mission to provide a safe space for those in pain has grown into a trusted local resource serving the Central Valley, making a significant impact in their lives.

Through our Survivor Support Network at the Merlin Foundation, we teach practical skills for independent living and connect individuals to valuable community resources across Merced and Stanislaus Counties.
Our Emotional Support services at the Merlin Foundation offer one-on-one and group sessions that provide compassionate listening, healthy coping tools, and guidance in discovering positive social roles.
We also provide Social Service Coordination through the Merlin Foundation, helping participants access essential programs such as SNAP, Medi-Cal, emergency housing, and other federal and state resources.
Let’s make sure our local students know their community has their back.

Sometimes, the heaviest burdens are the ones we try to carry by ourselves. We’re so excited to finally open the doors to our Virtual Support Group, a part of the Merlin Foundation. This safe, digital sanctuary is designed for connection, healing, and real conversation.
The Clock It Course is a transformative one-day intensive designed to empower system-impacted youth through the lenses of local leadership and civic engagement. By providing a platform for young people who have navigated the justice or foster care systems, the curriculum focuses on turning lived experience into advocacy and community influence. Participants engage in hands-on workshops that demystify local government structures, teach the mechanics of civic participation, and build the foundational leadership skills necessary to drive social change. The program's core mission is to bridge the gap between marginalized youth and the levers of power, ensuring their voices are not just heard, but are instrumental in shaping the future of their own communities.
Over the past two years, our mission has been to empower system-impacted youth by cultivating the next generation of leaders through deep emotional and social development. Now, it’s your turn to step up. If you’re ready to redefine your narrative, sharpen your voice, and lead with purpose, we want you in the room. This isn't just a program is your platform to show the world what you're truly capable of, and the first step starts with your application.
We are thrilled to partner with We’Ced Youth Media, the premier platform for Merced’s youth voice, to bring the Clock It Course to life. This collaboration bridges the gap between civic education and community storytelling, empowering system-impacted young people to not only understand the levers of local power but to narrate their own roles within them. By combining our one-day intensive leadership training with We’Ced’s rich history of youth-led media and advocacy, we are providing a unique space where lived experience is transformed into organized leadership. Together, we are committed to cultivating a new generation of Merced leaders who are equipped to engage, advocate, and lead with both purpose and precision.
